Polling places are open until 8 p.m. on April 7

In light the COVID-19 situation, Gov. Tony Evers’ “Safer At Home” executive order, and the on-off-on election whipsaw of the last 24 hours, the below info will provide clarity. In addition to many local races, there is an important Wisconsin Supreme Court election.

ABSENTEE BALLOTS

  1. If you have one, return your ballot to your polling place before 8 p.m. tonight OR make sure your absentee ballot is postmarked today or it will not be counted.
  2. If you have not yet requested an absentee ballot, or you requested an absentee ballot but have not received it yet, you need to go to your polling place to vote.
  3. If you already voted absentee, your vote will be counted unless it was not witnessed. In which case, you need to go to your polling location.
  4. You cannot get an absentee ballot emailed to you.

GOING TO THE POLLS

SOCIAL DISTANCING REMINDERS AT THE POLLS

  • Maintain at least six feet from poll workers and other voters.
  • Wear gloves and a mask if you have them.
  • Bring your own black pen.
  • Listen to the instructions of the poll workers who are trying to keep you safe with their limited resources.
  • Plan ahead, some polling locations are experiences longer waits than usual.
  • Wash or sanitize your hands before and after voting.
