St. Croix Valley Business Innovation Center

Construction of the St. Croix Valley Business Innovation Center required a great amount of collaboration by Ross & Associates, Ltd., as it was a federal, state, and local project. The project faced a major setback after a supplier neglected to order a critical metal staircase for the two-story building, prompting crews to find creative ways to continue construction and stay on schedule, including pouring the second floor concrete by hand. The contractor employed Critical Path Method (CPM), a management technique that applies mathematical analysis to calculate time for all activities needed to complete the project, while including a “float time” for possible delays.
