Klondike recently completed a major 36,000-square-foot addition to its existing cheese plant to enable the tripling of production output. A vast portion of the project required PDC Electrical Contractors’ electrical design and installation expertise. A major challenge was incorporating each specific equipment manufacturer and the complex engineering for each one. PDC installed a 2,000 amp switch-board extension, constructed three electric rooms housing 160 open-faced variable frequency drive assemblies and connected power to 155 motors on new processes totaling 855 hp. The project included 225,000 feet of wire and 12,000 feet of stainless raceway.
